Experiences and Reviews of PayU: A Fraudulent and Unreliable Payment Gateway
Introduction
In recent years, PayU has been commonly used as a payment gateway for various online businesses and transactions. However, numerous users have reported fraudulent and unreliable experiences with this payment aggregator. This article aims to shed light on these issues and warn potential users about the risks involved.
False Commitments and Dishonest Practices
One major complaint is the false commitments made by PayU. For instance, many users have reported paying large sums of money for an International Payment Gateway service, only to find that the gateway is completely non-functional. Omid, a user, comments, 'They enabled International Payment Gateway – I paid Rs. 23600 for the same as they demanded. But their International Payment Gateway is NOT working at all.' This issue highlights the lack of transparency and reliability of PayU's services.
Lack of Customer Support
Another widespread issue is the lack of customer support. According to several users, they are unable to reach PayU's customer care team via email or any other means. This disconnect exacerbates the frustration and dissatisfaction of users who are unable to resolve their issues. One user wrote, 'Now they are not responding to our emails. No customer care number available. Lots of false commitments.'
Fraudulent Tactics
PayU has also faced accusations of attempted fraud. In one incident, a user attempted to recharge their Airtel prepaid account, but after paying through PayU, did not receive the services. The user claims, 'PayU will take Rs 304. After the payment was made successfully I did not get my airtel services resumed.' Upon contacting PayU, the user received a response that PayU is merely a payment aggregator and suggested contacting Airtel directly. However, Airtel stated there was no recharge amount received and thus could not resume the services.
The situation worsened when the user raised a chargeback request with Paytm, which was cooperative, and sent the chargeback request to PayU. PayU, however, denied the chargeback request despite having evidence from Paytm. This raises serious questions about the legitimacy and integrity of PayU's operations.
Conclusion and Warning
Based on the experiences shared, it is clear that PayU is a company to be avoided at all costs. The lack of honesty, reliability, and proper customer support makes it a risky choice for any online transaction. It is imperative for potential users to carefully consider the risks and seek alternative payment gateways that offer more transparency and support.
Given the severity of these issues, users are advised to file complaints with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and consumer courts. Additionally, it is crucial to inform others about these experiences to prevent further victims.
